History

Clan Chaos was founded in 1998 by Devil{cAs} and grew into an active, mid-sized clan by 1999. During this time members PeteRoy{cAs}, Screamer{cAs}, and Vegeta{cAs} all were members of the up-and-coming clan.
By September 1999 Vegeta had left, and a Chaos member named TeriiK{cAs} had become friendly with a clan called the Shadow Knights, or (SK). Chaos was having trouble with another, larger clan, so Devil asked God_of_SC(SK), the Shadow Knights Leader, for advice. When that didn’t work, God suggested a merger, and Devil agreed, as long as he was made leader of the Brood War Division, which would be mainly made up of Chaos members.
Brood War members would use the tag (SKB), and StarCraft (SKS). Many members of (SK) objected to this and there was a minor rebellion. It was decided that only the tag (SK) would be used, and the Chaos merger was soon forgotten as the main thing that pushed (SK) out of semi-obscurity into the limelight on voting sites such as IGG.
Vegeta, alone for weeks and always finding the Chaos channel empty, e-mailed PeteRoy and found out about the merger and found his former clan-mates. He joined (SK) as DeathScythe(SK).
Two months after Vegeta joined, PeteRoy and Screamer were banned from (SK) for ‘religious defamation’ of God, which was little more than disagreeing with him. Vegeta also left, of his own will, in an attempt to remake Clan Chaos in August 2000.
The new clan, hurt by Vegeta’s lack of activity thanks to a broken keyboard and constant harassment by (SK), barely lasted one month, and closed in mid-September 2000. Vegeta joined the SoulReavers as ~Fenix~(SR), and Pete and Dave (Screamer) faded into obscurity.
On April 20, 2001, Vegeta, then ~Fenix~(SR), entered the (SK) channel and saw Dave (Screamer) there. He went to the old Chaos channel and found Pete. They decided, that with a few more founding members Pete had brought together, they would remake Chaos.
The new clan, version 2, struggled and was growing slowly until June 2001, when Vegeta and PeteRoy each separately contacted Devil{cAs}, now leader of the Fighters of Death Clan. Devil decided that a merger would be good for both clans, and Chaos grew by leaps and bounds.
By August, however, activity was low. A member, G{cAs}, had left with several members to make a new clan, nFo-. (SK), whose StarCraft Division had closed in July, was talking of re-opening. A slight boost came in mid-September, but October was harsh.
A co-leader, Splitrul{cAs}, left after arguing with PeteRoy about his spying on the rebuilt (SK). He then joined the Shadow Knights two weeks later. Slerpy{cAs} also left for the Shadow Knights for no other reason than it looked better than Chaos at the moment.
In mid-November, one bad thing and two good things happened. Vegeta, who had said ‘as long as I’m here this clan will never die,’ was grounded off his computer by his parents. It seemed like a deathblow to some.
Then, things turned around.
(SK) was in its first slump of its new beginning. It has nothing to do with this, but the writer likes that ^^. Also, without Vegeta there, several members took action to preserve the clan.
Led by Leader PeteRoy and Ravaged(cAs), members began to recruit. Vegeta, his parents 90 miles away, appeared one Saturday and saw things were going well. New methods of recruiting were explored, and some appeared to be successful.
And that is where Clan Chaos stands now. Seven months old, but with an almost 4-year long tradition of “No political BS, just some friends looking for a game,” Clan Chaos is on the upswing, still looking for a good game and a friendly atmosphere for all its members.
